Marisco Mayhem is an independent short documentary by Crusoe Weston, shot by Martyna Knitter, following Olmo Pruneri as he returns to his hometown of Noia on Galicia’s coast to explore the unfolding shellfishing crisis devastating his community. Through a series of conversations with residents, fishers, and scientists, Olmo uncovers how climate change, pollution, and demographic decline are eroding both livelihoods and cultural identity in one of Europe’s most affected coastal regions. Blending personal observation with candid dialogue, the film offers an intimate portrait of a town adapting to environmental and social change while quietly confronting questions of belonging, loss, and resilience.
