Terms & Conditions
By engaging my services you agree to the following Terms and Conditions unless otherwise stated in writing.
1. Safety & Working Environment
The workplace must remain a safe and friendly environment, free from hate speech, discriminatory language, bullying, racism, homophobia, transphobia, violence, or intolerance of any kind. Crusoe reserves the right to withdraw from or terminate a project if the working conditions become unsafe or unacceptable, with all fees incurred up to that point remaining payable.
2. Working Day, Overtime, Cancellations & Confirmation
A standard working day comprises up to 10 hours (9+1, including one hour for breaks). Overtime is charged at time-and-a-half after the 10th hour and double time after the 12th hour (11+1). Crusoe does not accept 1/2 days. Travel & Prep days are billed at 50%.
Non shoot days, Prep, Treatment, Recce’s, Research, Logistics, Storyboarding, Ideation, Creative services are a standard 8hr working day (7+1), No overtime is permissible.
For confirmed bookings:
Cancellation within 7 working days of the shoot date: full fee payable.
Cancellation within 14 working days of the shoot date: 50% of the full fee payable.
Rescheduled jobs are considered cancellations unless confirmed otherwise in writing.
A service agreement detailing fees and any project specifics will be sent, and a project will be viewed as “confirmed” at the point that this is signed and returned.
3. Usage Rights
All usage rights are limited to the specific permissions granted at the time of commissioning and may not be extended or repurposed without written approval.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the following standard rights apply to commercial work:
Perpetual usage for unpaid social media channels.
Six months’ usage from the first release across paid social media channels and the client’s website.
The following uses are excluded unless expressly agreed in writing:
Broadcast, including video-on-demand and all streaming services..
Paid above-the-line advertising such as billboards, point-of-sale, or in-store displays.
Website use beyond the initial six-month period.
Any additional usage requires written negotiation and may be subject to additional fees.
4. Post Production
Project timelines, agreed rounds of amends, and allocated editing hours will be set out at the project start.
If post-production is expected to exceed the agreed scope, Crusoe will notify the client promptly to allow for budget adjustments or timeline renegotiation.
A surcharge of 10% of the production fee applies to all post-production projects without a dedicated post-production supervisor assigned by the client.
5. Shoot Production
Where required, Crusoe can manage elements of production, including crewing, equipment booking, and logistics. A surcharge of 10% is added to cover coordination and management overheads for these services.
6. Data Retention and Storage
Raw footage is stored for one month following the shoot date.
If post-production is handled by Crusoe, raw data and edit files are retained for one month after final delivery.
Retrieval requests beyond this period incur a retrieval fee. Long-term storage, whether on physical or cloud-based systems, can be arranged at an additional cost.
7. Payment Terms
New clients are expected to provide 2 x professional references and pay upfront for the first 3 bookings before a credit account can be created. All projects which require production require a 50% up front payment to cover direct costs
Invoices must be settled within 28 days of issue unless otherwise specified in writing before the project begins.
The client must inform Crusoe in advance of any specific payment processes or systems required for invoice clearance.
All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT.
Late payments are subject to statutory interest under UK government guidelines and an administrative fee. Accounts remaining unpaid may be passed to a private debt collection partner.
